This is not like the other phones you will find on eBay etc. claiming to be 'props' - this one works!It rings by remote control and is battery powered, ideal for stage shows and much better than the usual rubbish sound effects that lack the focus of a sound coming from the right place on stage.
Picture the scene - one of the cast is expecting a telephone call. The phone on the table on the set actually rings with a real, authentic bell! He/She/They pick up the handset and the phone falls silent with the residual sound from the bells. No wires, no fuss.
I made a few of these for my son's comedy act and they are absolutely unique - I have never seen anything as authentic on sale anywhere. The show that used these has now concluded, so I am offering my 'spare' to a new home.
For clarity:
- The phone will ring in either UK (dring-dring---dring-dring) or US/Foreign (driiiiiiiiing----driiiiiiiiing)
- It is controlled by a 433MHz remote control key fob
- It stops ringing if the handset is lifted, or it is turned off remotely via the key fob
- There is no other functionality - you can't talk, listen through it or dial to make a call
- The phone is a little discoloured - they all are, please take a good look at the photos to make sure you are happy
You can easily change the colour by buying a 'donor' phone of the same type, if you wish.
It uses a custom-designed 3d printed chassis to hold the new electronics and switches.
Most of the original electronics have been removed.
I haven't tested the battery life but, with sensible use, this will last for many shows.
I'm happy to help out with advice if you encounter any problems post delivery, but there is no warranty on this device.
